One of BuzzAnalytics’ Principals presented a live demonstration
on how the wed mining toolset could be used for counter terrorism applications
by tracking on-line activities in over thirty languages and countries.
The toolset is powered by machine intelligence software that automates
many of the content analysis methods employed by intelligence agencies.
The web mining application currently analyzes language, context, mood,
and other language features as indicators of Internet and Internet-connected
media activity; however, a new capability was discussed where image recognition
will be added, making this one of the most sophisticated tools available
today.
When asked why companies and other organizations needed such sophisticated
tools to monitor and track mind share for their brands, issues, politics,
and entertainment . . . the answer was, “simple, they wish to survive.”
